GLS Spain API
Ce contenu n’est pas encore disponible dans votre langue.
Globe Pickup Points integrates with GLS Spain (GLS Spain y Portugal). With this integration, you can:
- Export orders to GLS Spain directly from Shopify
- Print shipping labels within Shopify
- Ship to GLS ParcelShops and lockers in Spain and Portugal, or to the customer’s address
- Ship to the other EU countries with EuroBusinessParcel
- Send cash on delivery (COD) parcels to addresses in Spain and Portugal
This integration is for merchants with a GLS Spain contract. GLS accounts in Central Europe use the MyGLS API integration.
Enabling GLS Spain API integration
Section titled “Enabling GLS Spain API integration”- In your Shopify admin, open Globe Pickup Points and navigate to Shipping labels. Click Add carrier and select GLS Spain.
- Enter your UID cliente: the 36-character UID your GLS agency issues for web service access, in the form
1A2B3C4D-1A2B-1A2B-1A2B-1A2B3C4D5E6F. Ask your GLS Spain agency for it. - The sender fields are optional: Sender company name, Sender street, Sender ZIP, Sender city, Sender phone and Sender email. Left empty, GLS prints the sender address it has on file for your UID. To print another address, for example your warehouse’s, fill in name, street, postcode and city. The postcode must be Spanish (five digits) or Portuguese (NNNN-NNN).
- Configure fulfillment and tagging options as needed (Automatically fulfill orders, Automatically tag orders with tracking number, Custom tag after export). Default weight (kg), under Advanced settings, is used for orders without a weight.
- Map your Shopify shipping methods to GLS Spain service types. For pickup point shipping methods, use GLS (ParcelShop if selected, otherwise address) or GLS ParcelShop.
Exporting and printing labels
Section titled “Exporting and printing labels”You can export orders to GLS Spain and print shipping labels directly from Shopify, either in bulk or individually. See Creating shipping labels for the general workflow.
Each label is one GLS Spain shipment with one parcel of up to 40 kg. The Shopify order name is the shipment reference, printed as Ref.Cli. on the label. The reference takes 15 characters; a longer order name keeps its last 15.
When Globe cannot tell whether GLS Spain created a shipment, for example because GLS Spain did not answer in time, the error asks you to check GLS Spain’s customer portal (MyGLS) before you create the label again. Globe then stops before the next order of the batch. The orders it did not send can be exported again safely.
Service types
Section titled “Service types”Select the service type when exporting an order, or map it to a shipping method:
| Service type | What it does |
|---|---|
| GLS (ParcelShop if selected, otherwise address) | Delivers to the GLS ParcelShop or locker the customer picked. Without one, delivers to the customer’s address: BusinessParcel in Spain and Portugal, EuroBusinessParcel to the other EU countries. |
| GLS (address) | Delivers to the customer’s address, also when the order has a pickup point: BusinessParcel in Spain and Portugal, EuroBusinessParcel to the other EU countries. |
| GLS EconomyParcel (address) | EconomyParcel to the customer’s address, in Spain and Portugal only. |
| GLS Express 14:00 (address) | Express 14:00 to the customer’s address, in Spain and Portugal only. |
| GLS ParcelShop | Delivers to the GLS ParcelShop or locker the customer picked. An order without one is refused. |
EconomyParcel and Express 14:00 work only if your GLS contract includes them. GLS refuses a shipment with a service your agency has not enabled for your UID cliente.
ParcelShops
Section titled “ParcelShops”In Spain and Portugal, the GLS pickup point provider shows at checkout only the ParcelShops and lockers on GLS Spain’s own list, and each of them carries GLS Spain’s ParcelShop code.
When an order goes to the GLS ParcelShop or locker the customer picked:
- Globe sends GLS Spain’s own ParcelShop code and the ParcelShop’s address, with the customer’s name, phone and e-mail.
- The ParcelShop must be in Spain or Portugal, in the same country as the shipping address.
- A pickup point of another network is refused, never shipped to the address. Choose a GLS ParcelShop with the Modify pickup point action, or pick GLS (address) to ship to the customer’s address.
- A ParcelShop that GLS Spain no longer lists, or lists as closed, is refused. Choose another ParcelShop with the Modify pickup point action.
Using your own label app
Section titled “Using your own label app”If you create GLS Spain labels in another app, that app needs GLS Spain’s ParcelShop code. The pickup point ID of a GLS point ({{ point.id }}) is GLS group’s ParcelShop ID, which GLS Spain’s systems do not use. Add GLS Spain’s code to the order as an order attribute:
ParcelShopCode: {{ point.special.glsEsCode }}The code is set on points of the GLS pickup point provider in Spain and Portugal, not on points of GLS (as used in MyGLS portal). See Order attributes for how to configure attributes.
Cash on delivery (COD)
Section titled “Cash on delivery (COD)”GLS Spain collects cash on delivery at an address in Spain or Portugal, in EUR only. Globe sends the order’s COD amount with the shipment.
- At a ParcelShop, GLS does not collect cash on delivery. Set the COD amount to 0, or pick GLS (address) to ship to the customer’s address.
- EuroBusinessParcel to the other EU countries has no cash on delivery. Set the COD amount to 0, or ship the order with another carrier.
- An order with a COD amount in a currency other than EUR is refused.
International shipments
Section titled “International shipments”To the other EU countries, GLS Spain ships by EuroBusinessParcel: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Sweden. GLS (address) and GLS (ParcelShop if selected, otherwise address) both use it for these countries.
- The order needs the customer’s e-mail address and phone number.
- One parcel per shipment, up to 40 kg.
- No cash on delivery.
- No ParcelShop delivery: an order with a GLS ParcelShop outside Spain and Portugal is refused. Pick GLS (address) to ship it to the customer’s address.
- EconomyParcel and Express 14:00 do not go abroad.
Destinations outside the EU are refused.
Label printing
Section titled “Label printing”GLS Spain returns each label as a PDF page of 92 × 143 mm. The following formats are available:
| Format | Positions per sheet |
|---|---|
| Label printer, 10x15 cm (A6) | 1 |
| A6 on A4 | 4 |
When printing A6 labels on A4, you can select the starting position on the sheet (positions 1–4) to reuse partially used sheets.
Globe fetches the label from GLS Spain each time you print. GLS hands out a label only while it has the parcel, not after delivery. If GLS does not hand out the label of one of the selected shipments, Globe prints none of them and names the missing shipment.
Tracking
Section titled “Tracking”Each shipment gets a tracking number and a tracking link. With Automatically fulfill orders on, Globe adds both to the Shopify fulfillment, with GLS as the carrier.
- Spain: the tracking number is GLS Spain’s 14-digit barcode, and the link opens the parcel on GLS Spain’s tracking page.
- Portugal and the other EU countries: the tracking number is the GLS TrackID, and the link opens the GLS tracking page (
https://gls-group.eu/track/<TrackID>), which forwards to the destination country’s GLS page.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”| Issue | Resolution |
|---|---|
| GLS Spain does not know the UID cliente | Check the UID cliente with your GLS agency: it is the 36-character UID they issue for web service access. Globe stops the batch there; the remaining orders were not sent. |
| GLS Spain settings are incomplete | Enter the UID cliente in GLS’s form (36 characters). If you filled in part of the sender, complete name, street, postcode and city, or clear the sender fields. |
| The pickup point is not a GLS ParcelShop, or “Wrong carrier for this order” | Choose a GLS ParcelShop with the Modify pickup point action, or pick GLS (address) to ship to the customer’s address. |
| GLS Spain does not list the ParcelShop, or lists it as closed | Choose another GLS ParcelShop with the Modify pickup point action, or pick GLS (address) to ship to the customer’s address. |
| GLS does not collect cash on delivery at a ParcelShop | Set the COD amount to 0, or pick GLS (address) to ship to the customer’s address. |
| EuroBusinessParcel needs the customer’s e-mail address and phone number | Add the missing e-mail address or phone number to the order and create the label again. |
| GLS needs the Spanish postcode as five digits, or the Portuguese one as NNNN-NNN | Correct the postcode in the shipping address. The same formats apply to Sender ZIP. |
| GLS takes parcels up to 40 kg | If the order weight is wrong, correct it in the label panel; otherwise ship the order with another carrier. |
| Your GLS agency has not enabled this service for your UID (code -53) | Ask your GLS agency to enable the service, or choose a service type your contract includes. |
| GLS Spain did not hand out the label | Try again in a minute, or print the label in GLS Spain’s customer portal (MyGLS). GLS hands out labels only while it has the parcel. |
| GLS Spain did not confirm the shipment | The shipment may exist. Check GLS Spain’s customer portal (MyGLS) before you create the label again. |
