Econt API

Globe Pickup Points integrates with Econt, a Bulgarian carrier with a network of Econt offices and Econtomats (parcel lockers). With this integration, you can:
- Export orders to Econt directly from Shopify
- Print shipping labels within Shopify
- Ship to Econt offices, Econtomats or the customer’s address
- Collect cash on delivery in EUR, BGN or RON
- Fulfill orders automatically with the Econt tracking number
Enabling Econt API integration
Section titled “Enabling Econt API integration”- In your Shopify admin, open Globe Pickup Points and navigate to Shipping labels. Click Add carrier and select Econt.
- Enter your Username and Password. These are the login details you use for e-Econt (ee.econt.com). Econt has no separate API key.
- Select the Environment. Production creates real shipments in your e-Econt account. Development creates them in Econt’s demo system instead.
- Fill in the sender. Sender name (the contact person printed on the label) and Sender phone are required. Sender company name is optional; write it as in your Econt profile. When it is set, the company is the sender and Sender name is its contact person, as Econt requires for companies.
- Set where your parcels start:
- If you take parcels to an Econt office, enter its code in Econt office where you hand in parcels (for example
1127). The sender address is then not needed. - If a courier collects them, leave that field empty and fill in Sender street (street and number, for example
ul. Aleya Mladost 7), Sender city and Sender ZIP. Globe sends the sender address as an address in Bulgaria.
- If you take parcels to an Econt office, enter its code in Econt office where you hand in parcels (for example
- Choose who pays Econt for the delivery in Shipping paid by. Sender (my Econt account) is the default and is charged to your Econt account. With Recipient (pays on delivery), the recipient pays for the delivery in cash. Labels are created without a declared value (Econt’s paid insurance against loss or damage).
- Under Advanced settings (click Show advanced settings), you can set the optional COD agreement number and Let the customer inspect the parcel before paying (see Cash on delivery), and Default weight (kg), which is used when an order has no weight.
- Configure fulfillment and tagging options as needed: Automatically fulfill orders, Automatically tag orders with tracking number and Custom tag after export. Automatic fulfillment adds the Econt shipment number and tracking link to the order, with or without the order shipped email.
- Map your Shopify shipping methods for Bulgaria to the Econt service types. Map pickup point shipping methods to Econt (office or Econtomat if selected, otherwise address) or Econt to office or Econtomat, because Econt to address ignores the pickup point.
Exporting and printing labels
Section titled “Exporting and printing labels”You can export orders to Econt and print shipping labels directly from Shopify, either in bulk or individually. For the label workflow itself, see Creating shipping labels.
Each label is one Econt shipment with one parcel, created in your e-Econt account. The Econt shipment number is used as the tracking number, and parcels are tracked at https://www.econt.com/services/track-shipment/<shipment number>.
The label shows a shipment description that starts with the Shopify order number, for example Order #1001. If the order has the globe.content_description metafield, its text follows the order number, for example #1001 Shoes. The description is limited to 100 characters.
Labels are created without Econt’s paid Saturday delivery. Globe stores the label link from Econt, so you can print a label again later in any of the label formats.
The Econt integration does not update delivery statuses in Shopify.
Service types
Section titled “Service types”Choose the service type when you create the label, or map shipping methods so it is selected automatically:
| Service type | Delivery |
|---|---|
| Econt (office or Econtomat if selected, otherwise address) | To the Econt office or Econtomat the customer selected at checkout, or to the customer’s address when the order has no pickup point. A pickup point of another network is refused. |
| Econt to address | Always to the customer’s address, also when the order has a pickup point. |
| Econt to office or Econtomat | To the Econt office or Econtomat on the order. Orders without one are refused. |
For delivery to an address, Econt reads the street, number and floor from the address lines, in Latin or Cyrillic. The city and postcode must match each other.
Econt offices and Econtomats
Section titled “Econt offices and Econtomats”Econt offices and Econtomats are one network, both addressed by their Econt office code. Globe sends Econt the code of the office or Econtomat the customer selected at checkout.
A pickup point of another network, for example a Sameday or BOX NOW locker, is refused at export and never shipped to the customer’s address instead. An Econt office chosen through Packeta counts as a Packeta point, because it carries Packeta’s ids instead of an Econt office code. To ship such an order, choose an Econt office with the Modify pickup point action, or export it with Econt to address.
Cash on delivery (COD)
Section titled “Cash on delivery (COD)”Econt collects cash on delivery at the customer’s address, at Econt offices and at Econtomats.
- For orders with a cash on delivery payment method, the COD amount is filled in automatically. You can change it in the label creation panel (COD amount). With a COD amount of 0, the parcel is sent without COD.
- The COD currency is the order currency. Econt collects COD in EUR, BGN and RON, and converts BGN and RON to EUR. A COD order in any other currency is refused at export.
- COD agreement number is optional. Enter the number of your cash on delivery payout agreement in e-Econt, for example
CD12345. With an agreement number set, the sender name must match the client name in your e-Econt profile exactly, in Bulgarian or English. The sender name is the Sender company name, or the Sender name when no company is set. - Let the customer inspect the parcel before paying lets the customer open and check a COD parcel before paying. It has no effect on parcels without COD. Econt does not offer it for Econtomats, so those labels are created without it.
Label printing
Section titled “Label printing”Econt labels can be printed in the following formats:
| Format | Page |
|---|---|
| 10x15 cm | One label per 10 × 15 cm page (default) |
| 10x9 cm | One label per 10 × 9 cm page |
| A4 | Econt’s A4 landscape page, with the label in the top-left quarter |
Each label is printed on its own page, so there is no starting position to select. Labels printed together are merged into one PDF. If Econt does not return the 10x15 cm or 10x9 cm version of a label, Globe prints Econt’s A4 page for that label instead.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”| Issue | Resolution |
|---|---|
| Econt rejected the username or password | Check your e-Econt Username and Password in the carrier settings. Globe stops the export at the first rejected login, so the other orders in the batch show the same error. |
| Econt settings are incomplete | Fill in Sender name and Sender phone, and either Econt office where you hand in parcels or Sender street, Sender city and Sender ZIP. |
| The pickup point is not an Econt office or Econtomat | The customer chose a pickup point of another network. Choose an Econt office with the Modify pickup point action, or export with Econt to address to ship to the customer’s address. |
| The order has no Econt office or Econtomat, but delivery to an Econt office was chosen | Econt to office or Econtomat needs an Econt pickup point on the order. Add one with Modify pickup point, or choose a service type that ships to the address. |
| The Econt office was not found | Choose the office again with the Modify pickup point action. |
| The order has no weight | Set the product weight in Shopify, enter the weight in the label creation panel, or set Default weight (kg). |
| Econt needs the recipient’s phone number | Add a phone number to the order’s shipping address. |
| Econt collects cash on delivery only in EUR, BGN, RON | Econt cannot collect COD in the order’s currency. Set the COD amount to 0 to ship the order without COD. |
| Econt did not answer in time, the connection to Econt failed, or Econt did not confirm the label | The shipment may already exist. Globe does not retry these exports automatically. Check e-Econt before you export the order again, because a new export could create a second shipment. |
| Econt created the shipment, but Globe could not save it | The shipment exists in e-Econt. Print or delete it in e-Econt before you create the label again. |
Error text starting with Econt: | The message comes from Econt, in Bulgarian. получател means the recipient, подател the sender. |
| Error about the COD agreement and the sender company | With a COD agreement number set, enter Sender company name exactly as the client name in your e-Econt profile. |
| Error printing Econt labels | Econt returned none of the selected labels. Check in e-Econt that the shipments were not deleted. |
