Magyar Posta API
Globe Pickup Points integrates with Magyar Posta (MPL), the Hungarian national postal carrier, enabling seamless order export and shipping label printing directly from Shopify. With this integration, you can:
- Export orders to Magyar Posta over the MPL API v2
- Print shipping labels within Shopify, with the mandatory EFJ manifest included in the same PDF
- Ship to PostaPont locations, post offices, parcel lockers or the customer’s address
- Support cash on delivery (COD) and parcel value insurance
- Deliver to Hungary and 24 other European countries
Enabling Magyar Posta API integration
Section titled “Enabling Magyar Posta API integration”- In your Shopify admin, open Globe Pickup Points and navigate to Shipping labels. Add a new carrier and select Magyar Posta.
- Enter your API key and API secret — you can find both in your Magyar Posta account. Use Test connection to verify them before saving; Globe requests an OAuth2 token and reports straight away whether the credentials are valid.
- Enter your Agreement — your Magyar Posta agreement number.
- Enter your Account number — your Magyar Posta customer accounting code. Exports are rejected if the agreement number or the account number is missing.
- Enter your Bank account number — Magyar Posta uses it to forward collected COD amounts. Enter all 24 digits with no dashes or spaces; if your account number has 16 digits (2×8), add
00000000to the end (e.g.11733003-27329661becomes117330032732966100000000). - Choose Package retention (days) — the number of days Magyar Posta holds the parcel: 0, 5 or 10.
- Fill in the sender block: Sender name, Sender street, Sender ZIP, Sender city, Sender phone (international format, e.g.
+36123456789) and Sender email. - Configure Automatically fulfill orders and Automatically tag orders with tracking number as needed.
- Map your Shopify shipping methods to the appropriate Magyar Posta product.
Exporting and printing labels
Section titled “Exporting and printing labels”You can export orders to Magyar Posta and print shipping labels directly from Shopify, either in bulk or individually. See Creating shipping labels for the full workflow.
Each exported parcel receives a tracking number, which is used for fulfillment tracking and can be looked up on the Magyar Posta tracking page. If the order has no weight, Globe sends a default of 100 g.
Manifest (EFJ) and daily closing
Section titled “Manifest (EFJ) and daily closing”Magyar Posta couriers require an EFJ manifest (Elektronikus Feladójegyzék) to be handed over together with the parcels — without it they may refuse to accept the shipment. Globe handles this for you: when you print labels, it closes the shipments at Magyar Posta and appends the manifest to the same PDF. The printed file contains, in order:
- The shipping labels
- The delivery note — the paper receipt the courier signs
- The posting list summary (and a pallet posting list, if the batch contains pallets)
The generated PDF is stored, so reprints are instant and never fail with an “already closed” error. If the manifest cannot be generated, Globe still returns the labels and warns you that the manifest has to be produced separately before the courier arrives.
Products

Pickup points vs. home delivery
Section titled “Pickup points vs. home delivery”The delivery mode is derived automatically from the pickup point the customer selected at checkout:

Parcel locker shipments are always submitted with parcel size L, because Magyar Posta requires a size for locker deliveries.
Cash on delivery (COD)
Section titled “Cash on delivery (COD)”Magyar Posta supports COD. When an order uses a cash on delivery payment method, Globe adds the COD extra service and sends the order’s COD amount with the shipment. Collected amounts are settled by bank transfer to the bank account number configured on the carrier — make sure it is entered as 24 digits.
Orders placed in HUF are additionally insured for their order value (capped at the Magyar Posta maximum of 2,000,000 HUF). Orders in other currencies are exported without value insurance.
Delivery status
Section titled “Delivery status”Delivery-status sync is not available for Magyar Posta — parcel statuses are not written back to the order. Shopify fulfillments still carry the MPL tracking number and the link to the Magyar Posta tracking page. Return labels are not supported either.
Label printing
Section titled “Label printing”Magyar Posta offers the widest choice of label formats of any carrier in Globe. Pick the one that matches your printer and stationery:

Labels are always produced as PDF and printing always starts at the first position — there is no partially used sheet offset for Magyar Posta. The recipient’s phone number and email address are printed on the label.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”| Issue | Resolution |

| Authentication error | The API key or API secret is wrong. Re-enter them and press Test connection — it must report a successful connection. |
| Configuration error — missing agreement or account number | Both Agreement and Account number are mandatory. Fill them in and export again. |
| Missing recipient city / ZIP / address / name | The Shopify shipping address is incomplete. Complete the address on the order before exporting. |
| Validation error with a parameter and code | Magyar Posta rejected the shipment data. The message names the offending field — fix it on the order or in the carrier settings and export again. |
| No tracking numbers found — cannot print labels | The order was never exported successfully. Export it first, then print. |
| Warning: manifest generation failed | The labels printed but the EFJ manifest is missing. Print again, or produce the manifest before the courier arrives — Magyar Posta may refuse parcels without it. |
