SPS API
Globe Pickup Points integrates with SPS (Slovak Parcel Service) through the WebShip SOAP API, enabling order export and shipping label printing directly from Shopify. With this integration, you can:
- Export orders to SPS WebShip directly from Shopify
- Print shipping labels within Shopify
- Ship to Balíkovo pickup points, SPS parcel terminals or the customer’s address
- Support cash on delivery (COD) with payouts to your bank account
Enabling SPS API integration
Section titled “Enabling SPS API integration”- In your Shopify admin, open Globe Pickup Points and navigate to Shipping labels. Add a new carrier and select SPS.
- Enter your Username and Password — these are your WebShip credentials. Contact your SPS sales representative to obtain web service access.
- If you use cash on delivery, enter the COD IBAN and COD SWIFT/BIC of the bank account SPS should pay the collected money into.
- Optionally set a Default insurance value applied to all shipments. If you leave it blank, the order total is used.
- Configure fulfillment and tagging options as needed — Automatically fulfill orders, Automatically tag orders with tracking number and Custom tag after export.
- Map your Shopify shipping methods to the SPS services you have agreed with the carrier.
There is no SPS test environment — WebShip has a single production endpoint, so the credentials you enter create real shipments.
Exporting and printing labels
Section titled “Exporting and printing labels”You can export orders to SPS and print shipping labels directly from Shopify, either in bulk or individually. See Creating shipping labels for the full workflow.
Each shipment is created and its label rendered in a single API call, so labels are ready to print immediately after export. The parcel reference sent to SPS is your Shopify order name without the leading #, shortened to 35 characters if needed.
Once exported, the parcel receives an SPS shipment number that is used for fulfillment tracking and can be looked up on the SPS tracking page. If the order has a customer email address, Globe also asks SPS to notify the recipient by email.
Service types
Section titled “Service types”When mapping shipping methods or exporting an order, select the SPS service that matches your agreement:
| Service | Description |
|---|---|
| SPS Standard | Standard home or business delivery |
| SPS Express | Express delivery |
| SPS 9:00 | Guaranteed delivery by 9 AM |
| SPS 12:00 | Guaranteed delivery by 12 PM |
| SPS Saturday Delivery | Delivery on Saturday |
| SPS Balíkovo | Delivery to a Balíkovo pickup point |
| SPS Parcel Terminal | Delivery to an SPS parcel terminal (locker) |
Orders can be exported to 11 destination countries: Slovakia, Czechia, Austria, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Romania, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria and Serbia.
Pickup points vs. home delivery
Section titled “Pickup points vs. home delivery”- SPS Balíkovo and SPS Parcel Terminal send the parcel to the pickup point the customer selected at checkout. Globe passes the point ID to SPS and puts the customer’s name on the label as the contact person.
- All other services deliver to the customer’s shipping address.
If a Balíkovo or Parcel Terminal service is used but the order carries no pickup point, the shipment is created to the customer’s street address instead of a pickup point. Make sure your pickup-point shipping methods are mapped to the Balíkovo or Parcel Terminal service and that the selector is active at checkout — see Adding pickup point carriers.
Insurance value
Section titled “Insurance value”SPS requires an insurance value on every shipment. Globe resolves it in this order:
- Insurance value set on the individual shipment at export time
- Default insurance value from the carrier settings
- The order total, if neither is set
Cash on delivery (COD)
Section titled “Cash on delivery (COD)”SPS supports COD. When an order has an outstanding amount to collect, Globe sends the COD amount together with the order currency and the COD IBAN and COD SWIFT/BIC from your carrier settings, so SPS knows where to remit the money. Orders with nothing left to collect are exported as regular shipments.
Delivery status
Section titled “Delivery status”Delivery-status sync is not available for SPS — parcel statuses are not written back into Shopify, so progress has to be checked on the SPS tracking page or in your SPS portal. The shipment number and tracking link are still attached to the fulfillment. Return labels are not supported either; arrange returns directly with SPS.
Label printing
Section titled “Label printing”SPS labels are generated as PDFs at export time and can be printed in the following formats:
| Format | Labels per sheet |
|---|---|
| A6 | 1 |
| A6 on A4 | 4 (2×2 grid) |
When printing A6 on A4, you can select a starting position on the sheet (positions 1–4) to reuse partially used label sheets.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”| Issue | Resolution |
|---|---|
| ”Username or password is not configured” | Both the WebShip username and password are mandatory. Fill them in on the carrier account and save. |
| Authentication error from WebShip | Verify your WebShip credentials and confirm with your SPS sales representative that web service access is enabled for the account. |
| Export rejected with an SPS error message | WebShip validates the shipment and returns the reason — usually an incomplete address, an unsupported destination ZIP, or a service that is not enabled on your account. Fix the order and export again. |
| ”SPS did not return a tracking number” | SPS accepted the request but sent no shipment number. Check the SPS portal for a duplicate shipment before exporting again. |
| Parcel shipped to the home address instead of a pickup point | The order was exported on a Balíkovo or Parcel Terminal service without a pickup point attached. Check that the customer selected a point at checkout and that the shipping method mapping is correct. |
| ”No label URLs found for these SPS orders” | The labels are no longer available for that batch. Re-export the orders to generate new labels. |
| Labels cannot be retrieved from SPS WebShip | The label PDFs could not be downloaded from SPS. Wait a moment and print the batch again. |
